Bastle weekend 2009
Tarset Archive Group's bastle project Reiver Landscapes, Reiver Homes culminated in a two-day special bastle event on Saturday 17th and Sunday 18th October 2009.

Agenda
The weekend included:
- bastle forum (in Tarset Village Hall)
- informal event dinner at a local pub with spit-roasted Tarset lamb and traditional Northumbrian entertainment with music by Northern Lights
- bastle walk
- bastle exhibition (in Tarset Village Hall).
The bastle forum included a keynote address by Alistair Moffat entitled "Why the Reivers?", an update on TAG work, a stone working demonstration, a lime burning demonstration, a bastle exhibition, a virtual bastle tour, expert speakers, discussions, presentations and a buffet lunch. Other speakers included Beryl Charlton (historian and archaeologist), Peter Ryder (historic buildings expert), Tam Ward (Biggar Archaeology Group) and Richard Carlton (archaeologist).

TAG gratefully acknowledges the support of the Northumberland National Park via their Sustainable Development and Action Area Funds, and the former Tynedale District Council. The bastle weekend is run in conjunction with Tarset 2050 CIC.
