Sidwood Forest

header tarset 5 jpg

Sidwood Forest is an attractive and sheltered wood managed by the Forestry Commission. There are two small car parks and pleny of signposted walks.  Sidwood includes the site of a former Romano-British settlement as well as a number of 16th to early 17th century bastle houses (like the bastle across the valley from Sidwood at Black Middens).

It is perfect for a quite walk, having a picnic or for exercising a dog.
